Landscaping Trends for 2022

Home interior trends change year to year, so why wouldn’t exterior trends change as well? However, keep in mind that just because the trends change, it doesn’t mean you have to keep up with them. These are just suggestions for when you feel like your landscaping has gone stale and you want to make an adjustment.

Choose Native Plants

Over the last few years, even decades, there has been a big push to revert back to native landscaping. For a long time, people wanted to choose landscaping that made them feel like they were at a tropical resort, even if they lived in Michigan. Those plants look nice for a while while the weather is conducive to their growth, but they begin to suffer once the temperatures drop below 60 degrees.

So when you’re thinking about how you want to change up your landscaping, keep native plants in mind! They’ll look beautiful and thrive all year long because it’s their natural environment.

Plant a Garden

While you might have a few beautiful rose bushes on display, we mean a vegetable garden! They’re beautiful, practical, and a great way to get kids involved with the garden!

Whether you plant your garden in the ground or in a planter box does not matter; just make sure to study up on how best to care for each vegetable or herb in the garden because they can be quite particular.

Add Some Color

Pantone’s color of the year for 2022 is a shade of purple called very peri! Add some pops of purple to your yard with the addition of petunia, pansy, verbena, salvia, and veronica!
